Textilic Abstract Art
"Textilic" is a word I coined to describe hand-colored fabric that I use as a medium for creating piecings and tessellations. "Piecings" is a term I use to describe pieced artwork such as abstract landscapes. For piecings I cut geometric shapes or strips to create art that can be hung flat, stretched on a frame, or quilted.
For tessellations, I cut the fabrics into geometric shapes and sew them together to create abstract art. Then I sew the front to a backing and put a stifferner inside so the artwork will hang flat on the wall.
Here are a few samples of my art.
